I
have started developing a wall of progress for each of my year group.
Students choose the work they wish to exhibit in order to demonstrate
progress made since the start of the year. This year 9 wall shows
students' development of compositional skills through use of layers,
various lines, symmetry, contrast, shading, blending and use of
patterns.
This is the Art Education blog of Donat Willenz - Trained as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator I have now become a teacher of Art and Photography. I currently work in Bath.

Roy Lichtenstein
A year 9 printing project based on the later geometric work of Roy Lichtenstein. These collagraphs are simply produced by removing layers of card in order to create various surfaces.

Portraiture
I have recently started working on a portraiture unit with year 9 students. Initial lessons allowed students to develop shading and detailed lines in two distinct stages, allowing them to develop their understanding of layering as a means to adding depth to an image.
